Darren Lane

Managing Director

Darren's skills as a safety management consultant are highly regarded throughout the industry. With more than ten years' experience in advising senior management of Australia's largest and most complex organisations, his knowledge and capabilities help create practical and lasting cultural improvements in safety management that have a far reaching impact. 

He is particularly adept at keeping his finger on the pulse of prospective changes to legislation and safety standards, enabling his clients to actively plan, manage and transition smoothly and efficiently.

Darren is dedicated to imparting and embedding his knowledge within his clients' organisations, and in doing so, is an agent for significant cultural change in the practice of safety management.

Darren founded Lane Safety Systems in 2002, drawing on his extensive experience in developing, implementing and auditing safety management systems in a variety of leading Australian organisations.

Prior to founding Lane Safety Systems, Darren worked as an Inspector with WorkCover NSW, where he also held the role of OHS systems auditor within the OHS Audits Unit. This unit is responsible for the auditing of self insurers within NSW and in this capacity, Darren audited numerous self insurers across the state.

Before joining WorkCover, Darren worked as an occupational health and safety professional in various industry sectors including government and non-government organisations.

Over his twenty years in the safety field, Darren has gained wide-ranging experience and knowledge of the issues that organisations face today in Work Health and Safety.

He holds a Bachelor in Occupational Health and Safety and has been recognised as a QSA Senior OHS Auditor.

Glen Gordon

Senior Consultant

In his role as Senior Consultant with Lane Safety Systems, Glen provides expert advice and assistance to self-insurers, helping them to maintain and retain their self-insurer’s licence.

Prior to joining Lane Safety Systems, Glen worked with WorkCover NSW for 17 years. During his WorkCover career, Glen held a number of key managerial positions, including the role of State Coordinator for OHS Audits within the OHS Audits Unit, Strategic Operations Group

As State Coordinator for OHS Audits, Glen managed a variety of audit programs including audits for Self Insurers, Specialised Insurers, Ministerial OHS Audit activity and Construction audit programs. He was also responsible for defining audit policy and procedures.

Glen consults widely in the development, implementation and auditing of Safety Management Systems to leading organisations around Australia. He holds an Associate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and has been recognised as a QSA Senior OHS Auditor.
