Background
A large organisation in the financial sector outsourced its nationally dispersed facilities management programs and activities to an external, contracted service provider.
Problem
The client recognised that their capacity to effectively evaluate and apply OHS legislative requirements in a contractual context was constrained by the scope of activities currently being undertaken by project managers within the organisation.
Internal resource capacity to meet legislative compliance initiatives were not able to be sustained with current staffing and skill levels on a national basis.
Solution
Our solution was to provide a comprehensive gap analysis of contractual arrangements with consideration to legislative compliance requirements and their application in the facilities management context.
We used our extensive knowledge in the understanding of OHS legislation and legislative application to provide a framework from which the client's project managers were able to draw information to better facilitate compliance activities.
We also provided structured knowledge sharing through a partnering arrangement while facilitating interactions with the facilities management contractor to demonstrate the application of compliance requirements.
Result
Our comprehensive knowledge in the application of legislative requirements in a contractual context ensured that the client was able to further improve its compliance interaction with the facilities management contractor.
This outcome positioned the organisation to better understand OHS related contractual conditions in a practical implementation context in identified areas to more readily manage compliance initiatives.
